Cairo School — Retrofit and Façade System
Festival City, Cairo
RIBA Stages 0–4, with ongoing design guardianship during Stage 5
Concept and design development, façade system design, Revit modelling and drawing production, schedule preparation, and selected technical detailing.

Project overview
A comprehensive refurbishment and modernisation of an existing school in New Cairo, developed from the earliest strategic thinking through to a coordinated technical package.
Working within a limited budget, the design draws on the building’s existing façade rhythm to create a more cohesive identity while incorporating solar shading to reduce heat gain.
Indoor–outdoor learning is central to the scheme, with classrooms transitioning into outdoor teaching spaces as a natural extension of the architecture. The project also includes refurbished interiors, an upgraded theatre and entrance with terracotta fin cladding, a renewed swimming pool and expanded sports facilities.
The architectural package was issued to a local architect for statutory approvals. With the project now under construction, the design team retains guardianship of the original design intent.
